Chipmunks make their nests in attics, basements, crawlspaces, and wall / floor voids.
They will dig and undermine sidewalks. They seem to love digging holes in gardens.
Quick Facts:
Chipmunks are one of the few hibernators in Michigan. They are considered light-hibernators because they wake occassionally to eat food, which they have stored inside their nest. They are often referred to as ground squirrels.
