Fox

Fox

Typical Damage/Nuisance Caused:

Fox will kill and eat small livestock and pets kept outside. They are known carries of rabies, mange, and distemper. In rare instances they have made dens under decks and homes.

Quick Facts:

Unlike wolves and coyotes, fox are not pack animals. They typically hunt and live alone, except during mating season. They are known to have the same mate for life.

Most people identify with the Red Fox (pictured above) but there are also Gray Fox in Michigan. Gray Fox are usually not often seen because they live deeper in the woods, while the Red Fox likes to live on the edge of the woods and fields.
