Voles

Voles

Typical Damage/Nuisance Caused:

Voles leave dead grass in spider-web or tree-limbed patterns in yards from very frequent traveling. They make small holes in yards, but especially in gardens where the ground is softer. They cause similar damage as shrews.

Quick Facts:

Despite having similar sounding names, voles have no relation to moles at all!

Voles are rodents while moles are insectivores.

Voles make paths in the grass, and moles dig tunnels underground.

Voles are also known as meadow mice.
